Please make sure a student does not use any of the following characters in their SDSUid password as they may cause issues with the degree evaluation system:

  • ampersand (&)
  • less than (<) greater than (>)
  • the single quote (‘)
  • double quote (“)
  • the reverse single quote (`)

If a student has any of the about characters in their SDSUid password, have them reset it to one that does not. Gmail Search not Displaying trash or junk

Search Spam & Trash

Gmail won’t show messages from Spam or Trash in your results. This means when we ask a person to search for their activation email they will not see it if it is going to their spam folder or if they have sent it to trash. Follow the directions below to search all folders in Gmail.

Here’s how to see search messages in Spam and Trash:

  1. Open Gmail.
  2. In the search box at the top of the page, click the Down arrow .
  3. In the drop-down menu next to “Search,” select Mail & Spam & Trash.
  4. Enter your search information.
  5. At the bottom, click Search.

Adobe Creative Cloud (CC) Licensing Issue

If a student currenlty has a personal account for Adobe CC, such as the free version, then purchases the student subscription using their SDSUid, they should receive a confirmation email from Adobe CC. Once they receive the confirmaion email, they must sign out of their personal Adobe CC apps then sign back in with their SDSUid for the new license to take affect. This should fix any licensing issues they might be having. The issues usually occur because they are logging into a personal account rather than an enterprise account.

Submitting Time

Hi Everyone,

I have received a notice from Library Admin reminding all students that in order to be in compliance with campus HR and the Chancellor’s Office policy you must enter your shifts in PeopleSoft on the same day and time you work them. Library policy requires all shifts be entered using our desk computers, not your phone or personal computer.

When you enter your shift, there is a timestamp attached to the record that can be used to determine if you are following these rules. Please make sure you are entering your time correctly, I do not want to be notified by library admin that any of you are not following these rules.

Thank you,

Josie

ACTIVATE YOUR SDSUID NOW AVAILABLE IN WEBPORTAL

Qualifying students will now see a link to “Activate Your SDSUid” in two places within WebPortal. It will only present to incoming students that have expressed intent or are required to live in on-campus housing. No other students will see it.

There is a document in the Team Drive called Activate_SDSUid_WebPortal that has more details about this new feature. The document includes screenshots. Please look over this document so you can refer students or troubleshoot if needed.

Please ask if you have any questions.

Discontinue use of lunch in/out fields in peoplesoft

We have been asked to discontinue use of the lunch in/out fields in PeopleSoft. Please instead, clock in for your shift, then clock out when you go to lunch. When you return from lunch add a new line using the + sign to clock in again, then clock out at the end of your shift.

Image of how to add a line in PeopleSoft instead of using the lunch fields.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you,

Josie

PeerMark and Turnitin

FYI:

Thank you for contacting the Turnitin Help Desk.

There is a known issue with PeerMark assignments with more than one review per student. Regardless of which peer review the student or instructor has selected to view, the first peer review received will be displayed by default instead of the one selected.

As a workaround, the user may select any review to open it up in the PeerMark viewer and then click on the “<>” links at the top-right of the screen to cycle through the other peer reviews received.
We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this issue.

Regards,

Turnitin Product Support

Use -w for google calendar and drive

We are moving away from the shared scc gmail account for accessing Google calendar and drive. Your -w account is a Google account. You know all have access to the Hub Student Calendar and a Team Drive via your -w account. Please keep your work email, calendar and drive open in Mozilla Firefox while at the desk. Please only make changes to the calendar via your -w account.  I will be removing the old calendar this week.

I will work with each of you to update your work bookmarks to reflex this change. Thank you for your patience through all these new transitions.

IMSDSU has REplaced MIM

We finally have a new identity management portal for SDSUid. It is called IMSDSU. There is a link for it on the right side of the blog under “HUB LINKS”. You must log in with your -w account. Please make sure you know where it is and how to log in.

You can search for students by RedID, SDSUid, or name. Some things to remember:

  • In list view you can see more by clicking on the record
  • Choose “Edit” to get to other options
  • You MUST add a note to the bottom of the record BEFORE you resend an activation email
    • explain why a reset was necessary
    • this will help us see patterns and deal more efficiently with problem patrons
  • After saving the note use “Edit” to get back into the record from the list
  • To view previous notes entered use the drop down arrow next to the notes text box
  • DO NOT resend an activation email over the phone, the student must come in so we can validate their identity. If they have a legitimate reason for not coming in they must speak with me, Mike or Stephen.

Let me know if you have questions or comments.

Josie
